Ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus expressed “All is flux. Nothing stays still” This philosophical concept finds resonance in the ever-changing imagery of transience observed in the shifting seasons, while also acknowledging the enduring presence of humanity amidst this perpetual change.
A timeless subject in art, the autumn season has been an inspiration for artists throughout history. While articulations of this colorful season preceding the dark periods changed with time, what remained constant is the atmosphere and emotions time provokes, translated by artists into allegorical, realist, symbolic, and even abstract forms.
