RAI in collaboration with the Kerala Lalitkala Akademi and Abu Dhabi Art, proudly present "Notes from Another Shore"
An evocative exhibition featuring the works of four distinguished Emirati artists. Hosted at the historic Durbar Hall Art Gallery in Kochi this art exhibition weaves a profound dialogue between the artistic narratives of the UAE and India. Featuring "Beyond Emerging Artists" with Almaha Jaralla, Samo Shalaby, and Latifa Saeed, curated by Morad Montazami and "Gateway’s Maqam," curated by Dr. Venetia Porter and showcasing Hashel Al Lamki, the exhibition explores themes of identity, heritage, and the transformative power of art. "Notes from Another Shore" invites viewers to experience the rich, evolving art scene of the UAE, fostering a cultural exchange that bridges diverse geographies and histories.
Beyond Emerging Artists (BEA): Featuring Almaha Jaralla, Samo Shalaby, and Latifa Saeed, this exhibition follows their recent showcase in Venice, Italy. BEA, now in its fifth international presentation, offers a platform for emerging UAE artists to develop their practice. The 2023 edition curated by Morad Montazami.
Gateway’s Maqam: Curated by Dr. Venetia Porter, this exhibition marks the first international presentation of Gateway. Highlighting local and international artists, the 2023 Gateway exhibition featured works by pioneering UAE artist Hashel Al Lamki.
